Plow To The End Of The Row

Just as the cover art of this CD is completely original and truly "ART" so is the music inside when you play the CD. Adrienne Young And Little Sadie are a group of extremely talented musicians that aren't afraid to go a little off the beaten track as far as commercial music is concerned. Blending a more traditional style of bluegrass, step dancing tunes and true roots country to an exciting new level. This is not the normal stuff you will hear on the radio, but in all truth and reality, it really should be.

If you are an Americana music fan you may have already heard the buzz about "Plow To The End Of The Row", it is one of the best independent Americana albums not just of the year, more like of the past 5 years. Adrienne Young's vocals are sweet and edgy, a little bit of a mixed spice, you would believe however that this young star on the rise was experienced beyond her years. A true voice that is as solid as the music that accompanies it.

Adrienne Young has been quoted as saying "Music is a sacred and powerful medium," Young says. "Through music, we connect not only to one another, but to our past and our present while discovering a path to a more positive tomorrow." Now all I can say to that is AMEN! If you don't think music is a spiritual and personal experience you must be listening to Cookie cutter radio. The plain truth is if you can feel something, if you are moved by a CD or the songs therein, then the music is really worth it's salt. I have been moved many times through music and the same feeling has come again, thanks to Adrienne Young and Little Sadie.

There are tracks on Plow To The End Of The Row that could give the Dixie Chicks a run for their money, and there are some traditional tunes that could almost make you feel as if you were in a time warp. "Poison" is one track that completely blew me away, but not like the rest of the CD, this could almost as easily be heard on AC radio as Americana or Country (well, they may not allow the banjo). "Leather Britches" and "Soldier's Joy" are both traditional tracks that hold as much respect for the past as any recording could. There are more wonderful tracks on Plow To The End Of The Row than I could mention without taking up a week, however "Sadie's Song" and "I Cannot Justify" do need their own mentions.  Just suffice it to say that the "family" of Adrienne Young and Little Sadie have proven to be one diamond that will not remain in the rough, an incredibly artistic and heartfelt musical experience. Great songwriting wrapped with amazing musicianship.
