Brad Paisley - Time Well Wasted

Since he exploded on the country music scene with the hit album "Who Needs Pictures", Brad Paisley has continued to grow musically and it shows in his popularity. Brad Paisley is a true country music individual, a real sense of humor, and a style that can take you from laughing to crying all in one listen. "Time Well Wasted" is the latest edition in the Paisley discography, and he has for sure outdone himself once again with a collection of truly original recordings. Although all tracks may not be written by the star himself, Brad Paisley shows that once again no matter what he sings, he owns the song from that point on.

The first hit "Alcohol" is a great summer hit, with lyrics that are a humorous look showing that no matter the outcome, the lure and effects of the liquid refreshment are, maybe not remembered, but still evident. The sense of humor keeps coming through on "Time Well Wasted" with tracks like "I'll Take You Back", the truly redneck "You Need A Man Around Here", "Flowers" and the band-wide autobiographical "Easy Money". Brad can hit the funny bone, but his ability to pull on the heart-strings is probably one of the main reasons for the immense popularity.

Taking original looks at love ("Waitin' On A Woman", "The World", "Time Well Wasted"), life and faith are other staples of Brad Paisley's music that are still intact. From start to finish, "Time Well Wasted" is one of those discs that are just as apt to wind up on replay, and be returned to time and again. More of the way real "classic" country music was than many of his contemporaries, Brad Paisley shines bright and proves his star is not even close to being ready to fade.

Yeah, "Alcohol" was a sure-fire hit. Other no-brainers are "Out In The Parking Lot" (With Alan Jackson, written by Guy Clark and Darrell Scott), the old man / young man conversation track "Waitin' On A Woman", and don't overlook that good-time look at reconciliation that may or may not work, "Flowers" has some sure fire hit potential too. The gospel track "When I Get Where I'm Going" (Featuring Dolly Parton) is a great track, and maybe the last (Bonus) track "Cornography" won't be a hit, but the comedy skit that takes true "timeless" superstars "Little" Jimmy Dickens, George Jones, "Whisperin'" Bill Anderson, and Dolly Parton and give us one final chuckle with it's suggestive overtones is as good an ending as any for a CD named "Time Well Wasted". Paisley's best, absolutely no filler here.
