Well, you found this page, that must mean you want to know how to go about submitting your music for review at Double R Reviews, if that's the case please read these simple guidelines for CD submissions, and how Rikks Revues reviews music FAQ! Contact us through our Contact form.

You may not find a certain artist you are looking for because of a couple reasons. A) There may not have been enough good to say about the project getting reviewed or (B) The Music, Movie CD or DVD did not get sent for review. By offering the best Online Reviews, we can focus on Good content, we don't feel trash talking indie or established artists, movies, music or entertainment has any place at Double R Reviews, we want to let you know about the good without the attitude of saying negative just because we can. ***Important New notice.... Double R Reviews has new reviewers as well, Please note that we now require 2 copies of your CD so the reviewers may get one and we have one for song clips and artwork purposes. This should help get CD and DVD reviews done on a more rapid basis. This is to help you the music maker and myself get through the pile. The reviewers have all been interviewed and I assure you they are all competent of reviewing your music. Thanks for your time. At least one copy of your CD should include all artwork. You may still send CD-Rs as long as they are high quality, But I do need the artwork and track listing for one, and track listing for the other. BIOs are a MUST ***

These simple guidelines to submitting your music to Double R Reviews are simple, but you do need to read carefully if you'd like to send me your music for review. The simple explanation following the guidelines will tell you why these are necessary

First let me tell you what Double R Reviews does not review....

We will not review music on cassette, simply if we want to go back and hear a tune or part of a tune again we must be able to do so quickly without rewind and fast forward. 

Double R Reviews does not review MP3's or any music that has to be downloaded from the web, we will listen to small music clips to see if it's worth your time but not streams of complete songs or anything that must be downloaded, remember some of us still live outside the box and have to suffer with dial-up. This is not to be cruel, it's simply because if we were to accept requests to review material found on the web, we would never have time to review everything, not even close, all our spare time would be taken up by surfing listening and downloading. If this alone makes it so you don't want your music reviewed, or you think our means are drastic. Remember Double R Reviews is a free service, and we would close up shop before ever trying to charge any artists or labels for cd reviews!

We will review good quality CD-R, but I need need all liner notes and a good quality cover art as it must be scanned. Does your CD need original jewel case ? No, but if you don't want to run the risk of your CD getting damaged in the postal service I do recommend you protect your CD, so you won't have to send another copy in a weeks time.

We accept all musical styles/ genres for review including Indie and established. You do not have to be a household name to get your music reviewed at Double R Reviews. A list of some styles reviewed are Rock music reviews, pop music reviews, punk rock reviews, heavy metal and hard rock reviews, country music reviews, R & B reviews, Rap music reviews, easy listening reviews, reggae reviews, blues music reviews, contemporary Christian music reviews, dark and goth music reviews and more!! You can find a number of artists and bands from which to choose. Indie artists, up and coming artists and the well known stars.

Double R Reviews takes all music seriously. All artists and bands are treated with the same attention and respect whether you are an indie artist seeking CD reviews, or a label that wants to push a certain CD by an established artist or band. Double R Reviews reviews CD and DVD music and movies on a first received first reviewed basis, for the most part, their are exceptions as when I am asked to review a CD prior to the release, a pre-release, or I don't get the music. Double R Reviews also prides itself in bringing the reader the very BEST music recorded. Please don't hound me with constant emails asking when your review will get posted, we cannot make any guesses on that subject as it all depends on how how many reviews are waiting.

If you'd like a 30 second (or at times when it seems needed or deserved) stream(s) of music added to your review, we do add them, if you don't want them after the review is posted, please let us know and we will remove the clip(s). If the clip is added (and you want to keep it) and you do not link back to Double R Reviews, the audio will be removed.

The benefits of getting your CD or DVD music reviewed at Double R Reviews are numerous, and include the following but is not limited to the list.

Double R Reviews scans your CD cover artwork and places it with your review so readers can see what they are reading about.

Double R Reviews provides links to both the artists site (if they have one) by clicking on that artists CD cover art work. Indie artists please remember the links to your websites will only remain active for 2-3 weeks after the review is posted if no reciprocal link is added to your website.

Double R Reviews also links to all the labels websites by clicking on the labels logo, if one is available, if not a text link will be added. I will also add you to my record label database if you are with a label I have not previously worked with.

You always know the indie and established CD reviews are written by someone who truly cares and loves music. I do not let anyone review, my reviewers and myself have backgrounds in music and besides me are all hand picked by me.

Double R Reviews also links to shopping pages when applicable so readers can click and buy!

There will be times when Double R Reviews may release compilation CDs if you would like to be included on any compilations some may cost you, so that I can hire Public Relations companies to get the word out, some may be for charities and will not cost you. I will let you know on each compilation what the regulations for each are.

      Do you still want your CD reviewed, please email us using the convenient  Contact form and we will email you my mailing address so you can submit your tuneage for review. There is also a mailing address on the Contact form for your convenience. Remember however that if you mail us a CD, all CDs do not necessarily get reviewed, but we will email you if / when it does.

Now, maybe you won’t get reviewed, but Double R Reviews will be starting Rikks Pikks -  This will be a page of other cds available, they will be rated, but the reviews will be shorter than in the main review section with approx. 5 reviews per page. This section is to come simply because there are so many indie and established discs sent that deserve attention, it is simply impossible to fully 3 or 4 paragraph reviews for all. Please know that attention will be given to the artists, the music the same as in longer reviews, but just shorter with a music clip if the artist wishes one. This section is in the works and will be started soon.
