Jennifer Hicks - Lost In The Magic

Top 5 placement on the second season of the USA networks Nashville Star television series, Jennifer Hicks was the final female contestant on the show. The honest and sincere persona of this talented singer/songwriter won her adoring fans during the competition, and made a believer out of many of the viewers that had to decide week after week who to cast their vote for.

Jennifer Hicks has an angelic voice that displays an innocence and charm that many country artists would love to be able to achieve. Her voice seems to be in a class with some of her contemporaries such as Deanna Carter and Sara Evans. There are times that she reminds me of a gospel singer Leslie Phillips as well. Her poise and gentle heartfelt melodies are just a couple of the reasons Jennifer Hicks has won fans across the USA and the world.

Singing is only one facet of the talent of Jennifer Hicks, she also has the ability to write a song that stands out and is immediately memorable. That is evident in her being able to be a staff writer at Warner/Chappell over the past few years. Her songs can depict the true aspects of life, love and heartache. Her songwriting itself sets Jennifer Hicks apart from many in the business.

8 of the songs on her 10 song CD were co-written by Jennifer, but even the 2 that weren't (Rose Garden, and Bad Reputation) are solid tracks. Jennifer Hicks with her originals and covers proves that she knows exactly what she is looking for in her sound, and can pick songs to suit her. Of the originals written with some of the best songwriters, they all have their wonderful qualities, but a few do stand above the rest. "Hello Again", "Lost In The Magic", and "Could You" are three songs that show the essence that I believe is Jennifer Hicks. Jennifer also sent me three additional tracks that aren't on the album, and that makes me look forward to the next CD by this beautiful and talented lady. I did get the chance to meet and talk with Jennifer briefly in Nashville, her gentle style and innocence are the real deal, there is nothing put on by this rising star.
