John Prine fans finally have a reason to be elated! It's been a 9 year wait for the new John Prine CD of original material, and the wait is finally over. John Prine delivers the goods on the new CD "Fair & Square", this is classic Prine, with all the fixins. If you have been hungrily awaiting a CD of new material from the Prine camp, you may have thought you would wait forever, but this is it, this is what we've been waiting for. In music, all genres, there are very few performers that can boast a voice that gets better with age, but after over 30 years of recording, John Prine's weathered vocals fit his music better than he showed in his youth.

John Prine has shown over the years that he was not afraid to take some chances, to go where he wanted musically and not worry about the mainstream. What this has done is very simple, John Prine has gained numerous fans that have stood by his every move, and he has never disappointed. With each new CD, there are new songs that are just left of mainstream, with some subject matter that commercial radio has never really been keen on adding to their playlists. That suits John Prine fans however, the followers of Prine's music have remained loyal, and never expected anything commercially acceptable.

On Fair & Square, John Prine has penned some classics for the minions. This is as good as anything offered up before. John Prine has always seemed to prove that he sees the world, it's problems and hurdles, with a unique perspective, and he proves it again adding his unique stamp on the subjects of love, life, war, heartache and simple life lessons learned. If there is one thing that John Prine has proved over the years, it's that although he may see the world at a different angle than most, there are many of us that do appreciate and even share his sight, and insight.

From the start with "Glory Of True Love" you know you are in for a treat, a real honest offering by John Prine that may even exceed your expectations. There are no bona fide radio hits here, but that's alright, this is classic Prine. You will fall in love with a true artists work all over again with tracks like "Long Monday", "Crazy As A Loon", "Some Humans Ain't Human" and "I Hate It When That Happens to Me". If it takes 9 years until the next Prine album, and he offers up a helpin' like Fair & Square, it'll be worth the wait............ again!
