Patty Loveless Dreamin' My DreamsThere are few female vocalists in any genre, not just country, that can deliver a powerful vocal with what seems to be no effort whatsoever. Patty Loveless is one of those few that can deliver with a voice that is immediately recognizable. On Dreamin' My Dreams, Patty Loveless strays from the mainly bluegrass she has offered up lately and brings us back to her beginnings. Yeah, there's still some bluegrass sounds, but the straight-forward country tracks are what are absolutely mesmerizing this time around. Like a breath of country mountain air, Patty Loveless offers up a dozen new tracks that have honest emotion and heart. It doesn't matter whether Patty Loveless is dealing up her fiery brand of up-tempo bluegrass ("Never Ending Song Of Love" or "Big Chance") or the more modern ("Same Kinda Crazy") numbers. A near perfect mix of solid tracks which comes through on the first single "Keep Your Distance" and doesn't let up. The bluegrass numbers have always been solid with Patty Loveless, but the strong suit here are the ballads. The delivery and strength of the vocals on numbers like "Nobody Here By That Name" or "On The Verge Of Tears" is nearly mind blowing. Solid country music with no gimmicks, no trailer trash talkin', no pop-goes-the-country diva attitude, just simple pure and true to form. Patty Loveless is one of only a handful of artists that remain true top their roots and their sound. From beginning to end, Dreamin' My Dreams is one of those albums that is sure to be stand the test of time when many other artists CDs may well be forgotten. If this is what it's like to stick to your guns, I hope that Patty Loveless has some crazy glue in her holsters, because this is it, the real deal, Thank you lady Loveless, and thank God for your musical sincerity!
