SounDoctrine - Perseverance

On the cover of this CD, you will see the line "A soundtrack to a non-existent movie". I have no idea what kind of movie this would be a soundtrack for, I do know however that there is not only talent here, but SounDoctrine for certain make the CD interesting for the listener. You will be taken from a Southern Baptist church choir to top 40 pop and Jazz. You will get mesmerized by the appealing sound created, a movie, I don't know, but eclectically attractive none the less.

Described on their website as "Contemporary Christian funk with a splash of Jazz", and that does describe the music fairly well. Urban beats and extremely powerful vocals that grab hold and cling. Whether you are a Contemporary Christian Music listener or not, SounDoctrine put a great piece of work together that can be appreciated musically by many for it's unique sound and presentation.

Instrumental pieces that are thrown in showcase the talented musicianship. The overall package is soulful and magnetic. There are clips on the SounDoctrine website (click on their album cover) that can give you a small taste, although the complete CD has to be heard to complete the mental imagery created. Experimenting with different styles, at times blending 2 or more styles on one track, listener friendly music from the heart and soul. There is no real direction Perseverance aims toward, which makes for an interesting ride.
